Honest answers about what's built, what's coming, and PE liability.
If your question isn't here, you can talk directly to the engineer who built redline.
01Product
What does redline actually do today?
redline performs AI-powered review of MEP drawing PDFs across six modes: General Review, Clash Detection, Code Compliance, Annotation Review, Coordination Check, and Detail Review. Each mode produces a defect list that you can approve, ignore, or dispute. The final report carries your PE stamp and signature.
What file types are supported?
Today, PDF drawings only. Discipline (M, E, P) is detected from the filename. Native DWG, IFC, and Revit support is planned but not yet built.
Does redline integrate with Autodesk or Bluebeam?
Not yet. The current workflow is PDF upload. Direct integrations with Autodesk BIM 360 and Bluebeam Studio are on the roadmap but not implemented.
How accurate is the AI?
Accuracy varies by mode and drawing complexity. The dispute system exists precisely because no AI is perfect. When the system flags something that's wrong, the engineer logs why — and those disputes feed continuous improvement. We don't publish a single accuracy number because the honest answer depends entirely on what you're reviewing.
02PE liability & stamping
Does redline replace a PE review?
No. redline is a review assistant that flags potential defects. You decide what's real. Your PE stamp is the legal authority on the drawing. redline gives you better tooling and a defensible audit trail — not absolution.
How does PE stamping work?
Upload an image of your seal once. Draw your signature in the app. When you export a PDF report, both are placed on the document. The seal, signature, and review trail are bound to the report at export time.
If a flagged defect is wrong, what happens?
You click Dispute. A short menu asks why: not applicable, already addressed via RFI, wrong code reference, false positive, or other. Your reasoning is preserved with the drawing. That dispute also helps the system learn over time.
03Security & data
Is my drawing data secure?
Drawings are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Each user can only see files they've uploaded under strict per-user access controls. Your drawings are never used for training and never shared between firms.
Are you SOC 2 certified?
Not yet. SOC 2 Type II is a 6 to 12 month audit and is on our roadmap for 2027. We use Supabase as our underlying platform, which is itself SOC 2 Type II certified.
Where is data stored?
Data is hosted on Supabase (PostgreSQL plus object storage) in US-East. Drawings live in private buckets keyed to each user's UUID.
04Pricing & access
How does early access work?
We're actively onboarding MEP firms one at a time. After requesting access, we schedule a 15-minute intake call to understand your discipline, review volume, and current workflow. Pricing is finalized after that call.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at end of billing period. Annual plans are non-refundable but can be cancelled to prevent renewal. Your drawings and review history are retained in read-only mode after cancellation.
