Plain English
We use the smallest number of cookies and browser-storage items we can while still running the Service, plus one analytics identifier that lets us count visitors and see which pages are useful. We do not run advertising. We do not allow advertising trackers. We do not use cookies to build a profile of you across the web, and nothing we set follows you to other websites.
We use PostHog for product analytics, configured so that session recording, heatmaps, and surveys are switched off, and so that no name, email address, drawing, or analysis result is sent to it. Data is processed in the United States.
These analytics requests are routed through redline.best/ingest rather than calling PostHog directly. This is a first-party proxy: the data still goes to PostHog and nowhere else, and the destination and contents are exactly as described above. It means the requests come from our own domain instead of a third-party one.
What follows is the full list.
What we set
| Item | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Auth session | Keeps you logged in. Set by our authentication provider. Required. | Cookie | Until logout or expiry |
| Analytics ID | A random identifier so repeat visits count as one visitor. Set by PostHog. No name or email attached on this site, and no advertising use. | Cookie + localStorage | 12 months |
| Theme preference | Remembers your light/dark/system selection. | localStorage | Until you clear it |
| Last report | Remembers the last analysis you viewed so the app can take you back to it on refresh. | localStorage | Until you clear it |
| PDF export defaults | Remembers your preferred PDF export options on a per-report basis. | Database row | Life of the report |
What we do not set
We do not use:
- Advertising cookies of any kind
- Advertising or retargeting pixels
- Social media share trackers
- Heatmap or session-replay tools. Session recording is explicitly disabled in our analytics configuration
- Cross-site identifiers. Nothing we set is readable by another website
- Any sale or sharing of analytics data with advertisers or data brokers
Clearing what we set
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time through your browser's controls. Clearing the auth session will sign you out. Clearing theme or last-report preferences only affects display. Clearing the analytics ID means your next visit is counted as a new visitor.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, our analytics is disabled automatically for that visit. You can also opt out for this browser at any time using the button below.
For additional rights and the full list of categories of information we collect, see our Privacy Policy.
